| Description | A critical aspect of conducting any type of field-based research and evaluation is the collection of data needed for testing hypotheses and answering evaluation questions. Many do not realize the importance of this activity in the planning of research and evaluation as it relates to internal and statistical conclusion validity. This presentation looks at methods of identifying and evaluating extant data collection instruments and methods of designing specific instruments for the conduct of research and evaluation. Topics will include methods of assessing the reliability and validity of data produced using the instruments and guidelines for the design, use, and data analysis of project-specific instruments. |
