17 Third Ave. New Brighton Staten Island February 28, 1906 Dear Bram I have not had the heart to write to you since Henry died. I was at Los Angeles that day & from that place I sent a cable addressed to you, in London. Here is a corrected copy of the humble tribute to his memory that I sent by telegram to the Tribune. The shadow of the great affliction has never lifted. The wdrld, to me, can never be the same that once it was. I have heard that you are writing Henry's life & I hope that this is true for no one is so well qualified to do it. When you go to the Abbey, I wish you would put a few flowers on his grave, for me. I honored and dearly loved him, and I remember now with a grateful heart that I did not wait until he was dead to give my homage to the nobility of beauty of his character and the splendor of his deeds. He was a very great man. Ever yours William Winter Bram Stoker Esq.
