This cave in the face of Jabal al-Ṭārif with Coptic inscription of the opening lines of O.T. psalms, thus it was clearly used by monks. The local people say this is the cave in which the Nag Hammadi Codices were found in a jar, but other local reports place the discovery elsewhere.
