Art and The Word: Andrew Hoyem and the Arion Press

This retrospective exhibition of
Grabhorn/ Hoyem and Arion
Press books, 1966- present,
honors master printer, poet, and
artist, Andrew Hoyem, Pomona
College class of 1957. In 1966,
Hoyem formed a partnership
with California’s premier Grab-horn
Press, creating the imprint
Grabhorn - Hoyem. In 1974, it
was renamed Arion Press.

TH LIBRARIES OF THE CLAREMONT COLLEGES
Harper Hall, the oldest building on the Claremont
Graduate University campus, was built
in 1932 and named for Jacob C. Harper,
member of the first Board of Trustees for
then- named Claremont Graduate School,
and attorney to Ellen Browning Scripps,
founder of Scripps College. Harper Hall
housed the first library for The Claremont
Colleges ( Pomona, Scripps, CMC and CGS)
until Honnold Library was built in 1952.
