Constitutional Discourse: A Panel Discussion on Women and the Constitution
in Remembrance of Ruth Schooley
Wednesday, Sept. 17, 4: 15 PM ● Founders Room, Honnold/ Mudd Library
Jean Schroedel, Politics, CGU; Diana Selig, History, CMC; Susan McWilliams,
Politics, Pomona; Catherine Allgor, History, CMC; moderated by Cecilia Conrad,
Dean of Faculty, Scripps College.
In recognition of constitution day, we have assembled a panel to approach the
question of how women might best interpret how they fit into— present, past,
and future— a document framed, in Leonard Levy’s words, by a “ studied impre-cision.”
The panel discussion is also in remembrance of our dedicated col-league,
political science librarian Ruth Schooley, who
passed away suddenly this summer. Free Constitution
books will be available while supplies last.
