This introductory symposium presentation presented by, Stewart Donaldson the dean of the School of Behavioral and Organizational Sciences at Claremont Graduate University , examines longitudinal trends in obtaining psychology and other social science degrees in both undergraduate and graduate education and the extent that such education is applied in the workforce . It further discusses current and potential areas where psychology may be applied , such as work and family balance , learning and education , psychology and law , interpersonal expectations , overcoming racial and ethnic disparities , health promotion and disease prevention . Additionally , Donaldson posits that the acquisition of education in psychology and learning to apply it to daily living can help make one a better person .
