Description
This
is
the
first
part
of an
interview
of
Peter
Drucker
by
Fred
Harmon
on his
book
about
innovation
and
entrepreneurship
.
Harmon
is
the
president
of the
AMA
Presidents
Association
, a
division
of the
American
Management
Association
responsible
for
offering
programs
and
services
to
CEOs
and their
top
teams
. He
introduces
Peter
, then
proceeds
to
ask
several
questions
and have a
discussion
. They
talk
about
development
trends
in
technology
,
jobs
and
income
, as
well
as
sources
of
innovation
within
the
organization
.
Peter
mentions
that
very
large
corporations
can
be
entrepreneurial
, as
well
as
newer
smaller
businesses
. He also
stresses
the
importance
of
systematic
entrepreneurship
,
purposeful
innovation
,
conservative
risk
taking
, and
finding
opportunities
in
change
.
Drucker
then
goes
into a
lot
of
detail
and
gives
examples
about
the
seven
sources
of
innovative
opportunity
within
and
outside
of the
enterprise
.
Drucker
states
that
although
it
is
less
risky
to
take
advantage
of
opportunities
that have been
systematically
found
rather
than
relying
on the
“bright
idea”
, there
is
nothing
wrong
with
having
success
spring
from a
bright
idea
.
