Description
In this
interview
Peter
Drucker
begins
by
explaining
why
he
feels
the
continuing
education
of
successful
adults
is
the
segment
of the
management
market
that
is
most
likely
to
grow
.
Within
this
group
of
successful
adults
who
seek
continuing
education
he
sees
several
types
of
individuals
,
some
are
mid-career
,
upper
middle
management
in
large
companies
,
top
management
in
small
companies
,
non-profit
management
, and
non-business
executives
.
Another
group
is
composed
of
people
with a
technical
background
who
work
in
service
positions
and
move
upward
into
supervisor
and
management
positions
.
It
is
the
second
group
that
Drucker
sees
as
having
the
most
potential
for
growth
.
Drucker
goes
on to
predict
that in the
future
classrooms
will be
located
in
dozens
of
places
such
as,
employers’
places
of
business
,
small
groups
meeting
in
church
basements
, and
so
forth
. He
emphasizes
the
importance
of
distance
learning
and a
change
in
learning
methodologies
toward
videotapes
and
distance
learning
strategies
.
Later
in the
interview
he
explains
that
management
will have to
learn
new
basic
assumptions
such
as,
management
does
not
necessarily
mean
business
management
, and that there
is
no
one
right
way
to
organize
,
instead
organization
needs
to
fit
the
task
.
