than
Life.”
She
begins
by
explaining
that the
book
is
a
memoir
of her
life
and
experiences
beginning
with the
traumatic
event
of her
father’s
kidnapping
in
1997
. She
shares
how her
father
,
Nelson
Gross
, was a
one-time
Senate
hopeful
only
to be
kidnapped
and
murdered
by
three
teenage
boys
.
Lenney
explores
what a
tragedy
of
such
large
proportions
does
to the
survivors
. She
explains
that she
is
an
actress
living
in
Echo
Park
,
California
and
since
the
murder
has
re-examined
her
relationship
with her
father
and
come
to
terms
with him. She
goes
on
shares
some
of her
memories
of her
father
and the
events
surrounding
his
death
.
Later
in the
interview
she
discusses
the
trial
and
sentencing
of her
father’s
murders
.
