Eyal
Press
discusses
his

,
“Absolute

He
begins
by
sharing
that the
book
is
the
story
of his
father
who
was an
obstetrician
who
performed
abortions
in
Buffalo
,
New
York
and the
constant
danger
that this
placed
both
he and his
family
in. He
explains
that his
father
immigrated
to the
United
States
in
1973
and on
October
23
,
1998
he
learned
that a
radical
anti-abortion
activist
had
killed
his
colleague
,
Dr
.
Bernard
Slepian
.
Press
explores
his
father’s
views
on
abortion
and his
own
childhood
growing
up
in a
world
of
conflict
. He
goes
on to
discuss
his
research
for the
book
and his
attempt
to
explore
the
views
of those on
all
sides
of the
apportion
debate
. He
explains
how he
tried
to
understand
why
the
nature
of the
anti-abortion
movement
inspired
such
violent
rage
and
tells
of his
family’s
experiences
with
protesters
,
patients
, and
politicians
.
Later
in the
interview
Press
explores
the
feelings
of his
mother
and her
emphasis
on
survival
.
