Description
Charles
Higham
discusses
his
book
,
“Murder
in
Hollywood.”
He
begins
by
sharing
that the
director
King
Vidor
was a
friend
of his and
before
he
died
Vidor
asked
him to
use
his
papers
to
write
the
history
of the
murder
of
William
Desmond
Taylor
. He
explains
that
William
Desmond
Taylor
was
originally
from
Ireland
and
later
came
to
Hollywood
where
he
became
a
writer
and
director
for
silent
films
. He
discusses
how
before
he
came
to
Hollywood
he
worked
in
New
York
where
he had a
wife
and
daughter
, but
eventually
had to
flee
because
he was
wanted
by the
police
.
Higham
goes
on to
share
how
Marry
Miles
Minter
,
who
was
suspected
of
murdering
William
Desmond
Taylor
,
asked
him to
write
her
biography
. He
explores
how
after
he
interviewed
her she
demanded
that he
give
her the
audiotapes
he had
made
of the
conversation
.
Higham
believed
that
Minter
was
concerned
that she had
revealed
too
much
in the
interview
and that
led
her to
demand
the
tapes
back
.
Later
in the
interview
he
talks
about
Mabel
Norman’s
role
in the
murder
of
William
Desmond
Taylor
.
