upper-middle

family

aspirations

Luckily
she
is
able

aspirations

she
meets

marries

Broughton

However
,
once
married
she
is
still
not
accepted
into the
social
realm
into
which
she has
wed
and
is
snubbed
and
humiliated
by her
husband’s
peers
. In
response
Edith
begins
an
affair
with
actor
Simon
Russell
.
Later
during
the
interview
Fellowes
discusses
the
power
of the
writer
to
immortalize
characters
. He also
discusses
his
career
in
theater
and
changes
in the
British
theater
over
the
past
fifty
years
. He
explains
how
being
a
trained
actor
contributed
to his
ability
to
write
successful
screenplays
,
specifically
in
reference
to his
Academy
Award
winning
script
"
Gosford
Park.
