Members of the Masquers society at Pomona College. This photograph can also be found on page 137 of the 1936 Pomona College yearbook, "Metate". The students are identified as: "Standing: Brash, Greever, McBride, Miner, Willard, Test, Mrs. Allen, Sjobeck, Spaulding, Moulton, Gillette, Lyon. Setaed: Williams, Peirson, Hopwood, Kehler". The following information is also provided about the society: "The purpose of the Masquers Society is to act as advisers for dramatic productions, in order to promote dramatic appreciation. One of its important functions is to sponsor various productions of the Freshman Drama Club. This year the society put on a Shapespearean play. One other outstanding event was the presentation of a matinee for the first time in the history of the Masquers. Requirements for membership involve previous work in dramatics, and unanimous acceptance by the members. Membership is restricted to twenty-five. Officers for this year were Henry Kehler, president; Louise Moulton, vice-president; Lenore Campbell, secretary-treasurer; Lucien Miner, business manager; and the advisers are Mrs. Virginia Princehouse Allen and Dr. Benjamin Duncan Scott". |
