AFTHIMI AL-MISRI. Afthimi was a monk at the monastery of Saint Catherine on Mount Sinai, who on 10 January 1242 completed his copy of a Byzantine horologion in Arabic (Sinai Arabic 180, 137 fols.). He was a Melchite from Cairo, as is indicated by his nisbah (place of origin).
