DAYR ANBA DARYUS, monastery mentioned in the Sahidic recension of the SYNAXARION in commemorating Anba Yuna (perhaps Jonas) at 2 Tubah. The Synaxarion locates it near the town of Armant. Anba Yuna's uncle Victor, who prayed for the saint's birth and to whom he owed his vocation, was buried near the church of this monastery.
No archaeological investigation allows us to identify with certainty the Monastery of Anba Daryus, nor is it attested by any other written document. One may, it seems, say with E. Amélineau (1893, p. 125) that it was a true cenobium.
