ABU SALIH THE ARMENIAN. Abu Salih is wrongly described as the author of the famous work entitled The Churches and Monasteries of Egypt and Some Neighbouring Countries Attributed to Abu Salih the Armenian (ed. B. T. A. Evetts, 1895). The real author of the work is a Copt named ABU AL-MAKARIM. The name of Abu Salih was inscribed on the only manuscript of the work as the proprietor of the codex, which had no author on the title page, thus misleading the reader as to its authorship.
