BASILIOS III, archbishop of Jerusalem (?-1935). Basilios came from the town of Akhmim and became a monk at DAYR ANBA ANTUNIYUS before serving in Jerusalem. When, after the death of TIMOTHEOS I, the diocese was divided into two parts, he was appointed to the newly created see of Jerusalem, which consisted of the governorates of the Canal, Sharqiyyah, and Sinai, plus Jerusalem itself, and changed his name from Jacob Antony to Basilios III. He was consecrated archbishop in 1925. He remained archbishop for ten years until his death on 1 Bashans 1935. He is buried in the monastery of Saint Antony in Jaffa next to Basilios II.
