Description	In a letter to a Mr. Budd, Kean presents himself as a potential buyer of the Theatre Royal Richmond. He gives his qualifications as a person experienced in theatre and admits that as an actor he is "weary of scampering about his majesties dominions." Kean ends with a request for more information on the sale and if there should be any objection to his offer. Kean adds a postscript that encourages Mr. Budd's haste with his response. Letter has been repaired and contains postmarks, an embossing, and the watermark of "Weatherley 1829." Last image scan has been rotated 90 degrees to the right.

Transcription	Feby. lOth 1831 Dear Sir/ having heard that the Theatre Roya1 Richmond is in the market, I shou'd gladly offer myself as a candidate. If I cou'd ascertain to whom I shou'd apply. Its proximity to London wou'd answer my interests in every way & the fact is, I am weary of scampering about his majesties dominions, till I make my final bow to the British Public, I think a good company well appointed & governed by a man of 40 years Theatrical experience, would fix upon my retreat both pleasure & profit. If you wou'd do me the favour to let me know if my name wou'd not be objectionable to the Proprietors,
