About this collection

The interviews of the Remembering The Claremont Colleges Collection were conducted as part of the final project for Professor Matt Delmont's Core 3 class at Scripps College, “Oral History: Theory, Methods, and Practice.”  The students in the course interviewed Scripps alumnae to learn more about what it meant and means to be a student at a women’s college.  The students were interested in participating in a dialogue with Scripps alumnae to inform, enrich, and complicate their understanding of women’s history.  The students worked together to develop a set of interview questions and each of the interviews was video recorded and transcribed by the students.  The first set of interviews were conducted in Fall 2011 and more interviews will be added when this Core 3 class is offered again in the future.
