2006-1175, Haddington Road, Dublin, December 20th 1914 My dear Archer, Delighted to hear from you. I should have written long ere this if I could have found any reasonable excuse. Old Mrs Macready, the tragedian's mother(,) was from 1833 until her death in 1853, manageress of the Bristol (and art of the time of the Bath) theatre. J. H. Chute, her stage manager & successor, married her daughter. See Penley's The Bath Stage Chaps XXI-XXII.Things have been going very badly with me since the outbreak of the war, nearly all my regular employment having been knocked in the head. But I am pretty well inured to ups and downs manage to struggle on somehow.
