Transcription	Edinburgh 23. Feb 1857 My dear Mfs Wilkins I have as usual mislaid your letter but think I remember pretty well the contents. I know you took a reasonable & unprejudiced view of my acting desires & gave me your opinion of the dramatic life(which you will be surprised to hear) I had joined before the receipt of your letter. My theatrical career commenced under the name 0f Henry Irving on the 29. Sept & at the opening of the Lyceum Theatre Sunderland in Durham
