Description	Garrick writes a long letter to Captain Thompson on various topics. Topics include a future meeting, the manners of a Mr. Foote, a potential duel with a William Kenrick, money, and Thompson's family. Postscript tells of Isaac Bickerstaff's recent absconding from England and the resultant scandal. Letter is dated July 20th. Secondhand notes suggest that the letter was written in 1767. Letter contains a watermark, wax seal, and a postage mark. Image four scan has been rotated 90 degrees to the right.

Transcription	I rejoice that you are coming towards us, when you are at Deptford Mrs. Garrick & I will wait upon you, & yours & be merry in Spite of Ingratitude-- Mr. Foote has indeed been most unjust, not to say more, virulent the whole Tour is sensible of it. But he is witty, & he had rather be to thee? either just or wise more than that, you must know that I was going to beat Dr. Kenrick last Tuesday morning for his infamy, & scoundrel like views in ye Papers but He smok'd ye Crabstick, & wrote a most cowardly letter, how unsafe it w'd be to meet me, that I had an intent to stab him, & (?) nonsense I wish you had been here to be my second,
