Description	Betsy Fawcett writes a Kean a letter to request money. Fawcett argues that as she is "the only relative of your Father in existence" he should send her a sum of money to support her in her unfavorable situation. Fawcett gives her address and suggests an arranged meeting. Letter has been attached to a sheet for support. Letter contains watermark of "Basted Mill 1824." Third image scan has been rotated 90 degrees to the right but more writing can be seen if image is rotated another 180 degrees to the right.

Transcription	Betsy Fawcett ALS: Edmund Kean a very interesting letter to Edmund Kean Dear Edmund, I once more take the liberty of addressing you on a subject which I hope you will not deem troublesome considering I am the only relative of your Father in existence and knowing by experience that benevolence is your leading characteristic more particularly so when you know it is not ill bestowed. For these few years past I have been obliged to work very hard at my business and can scarcely obtain a support as needle work is very precarious added to which I have suffered severely from an asthmatic attack those two last winters which I think I have imbibed by sleeping with my aunt so young which has involved me in pecuniary difficulties from which I find it impossible to extricate myself without the aid of your kind and generous assistance ever so small a sum would be gratefully and thankfully received by yours Betsey Fawcett Please to address Mrs E Fawcett No 1 West Street Soho or if too much engaged I will wait on you on Thursday at the Theatre Monday Janry 29
