re E. Kean (handwritten on letter)
67 Long Acre
4th July 1833
Dear Sir,
Presuming on our former
acquaintance, I have taken the liberty of
thus transmitting to you a few copies
of a recently published "Monody on
the death of Edmund Kean": if you will
be kind enough to endeavour to dispose
of them for me, amongst those members
of "The Adelphi" who "mourn the dimming
of our shining star,"
You will much oblige,
Dear Sir,
Your obedient humble servant
T. L. Ternan
