Donne Do not think harshly of me because I have not sooner answered your kind & welcome letter of the 24.th Feb.y I plead guilty to great discourtesy & throw myself on your mercy -My intention has been good, but procrastination that mother of evil, has delayed & delayed me until I am now almost ashamed to write at all -Pray bear in mind that my free hours are few.
