Description	Charles Kean writes Col. D'Aguilar describing the success of "Hamlet" and plans for "Richard III." The letter is torn and contains notations by a second hand. Page 4 is a self-cover with a partial seal and postmarks. The letter contains an embossing. Col. D'Aguilar probably refers to George Charles Aguilar.

Transcription	January 27.th 1838 30. Old Bond S.t My dear Col D'Aguilar, I have delayed writing untill partially relieved from the excite ment & occupations consequent upon my late trial & I felt confident that publick opinion acknowledged the claim of the Prince of Denmark. Already has Hamlet been received nine nights, when the applause of a crowded Theatre plainly indicated the general feeling & authorized the announcement of three more repetitions & probably will be extended even to fifteen nights!
