Transcription	My dear Marston I think it would be highly impolitic to make any single person, escepting your wife, acquainted with the subject of your new play -Should it become known that I am about to produce a tragedy on the history of Montezuma illustrated by scenery & costume you would have it anticipated in some way or another by rival & unfriendly managers--a burlesque at one Theatre, perhaps the opening of a Pantomime at another, & not unlikely a serious drama
