Sir This was not Sent
I last week sent you a copy of my belt
In consequence
Some time about three weeks
time I went
About a fortnight since I waited on you to 'shew you a copy of the Letter I sent to Mr. Smith, which communicated to him a narrative of what passed in the visit that you & he paid me on Monday the 15 of November last.
My reason for laying this copy before you was to know whether, in your opinion, I had omitted or misrepresented any material part of that Interview You then read my copy, and told me you had also read the original and in that interview and another interview that I had with you after in your chambers at Clifford Inn, you declared that every point, to the best of your Recollection, was fairly stated, the only Objections you made were--"that you could not take upon you to say "that Mr. Smith demanded satisfaction--Instantly "and tho the Fact of you and he coming into the "Room in my house abruptly in which I sat, was "true,-yet that abruptness was not the Intention "of Mr. Smith of yourself arose from the "Servant's mistake, who should have shewn you "into another Room." To this agreed.
and that I might your Testimony to
shew Mr. Smith, or his Friends who has in a Letter to me
