Sir,
Day by day I have promised myself the pleasure of calling on you to thank you for your obliging present of the Memoirs of Mr. Macklin. The moment I am able to steal the time to read them, I have no doubt they will repay the impatience I feel to begin on the life of a man whom I knew, though rather too late in his day -or rather too late in his Century. -I beg you to accept my best thanks for the Entertainment you have put in my power, and to believe me, your obliged and obedient servant -
J. P. Kemble
