Description	J. P. Kemble writes Mr. Peake saying that his request for sixty pounds owed him has not been honored and that he will not "set foot" in the theatre on Thursday if 100 pounds is not sent. The letter was probably written between 1783 and 1802 while playing at Drury Lane. The pages are torn. Page 4 is a self-cover. The page 4 scan was rotated 90 degrees clockwise. The letter contains notations by more than one hand.

Transcription	Tuesday Half past Five My dear Peake, It is now two Days, since my Necessity made me send to you for sixty Pounds -my Request has been treated with a Disregard that I am at a loss how to account for. I certainly shall go, and act my Part to-night -but, unless you send me a hundred Pounds before Thursday, I will not act on Thursday -and if you make me corne a-begging again, it will be for Two hundred Pounds before I set my Foot in the Theatre.
