My dear Sir,
In compliance with your desire I take the earliest opportunity of committing to paper my wishes with regard to our engagements in the new Theatre; trusting, that when you shall have submitted them to the Committee, they will not be considered in any degree unreasonable -if I remember rightly, you wished that we should enter into an article for five years, it is a long term, and renders explicitness highly necessary; in order that the mutual obligations, imposed upon the contracting parties, should be perfectly defined, and clearly understood -in treating for Mrs C. Kemble, the first point I wish to preSs on your attention, is the cast of characters which she will have to fill; and I own when I consider
