My dear dear Child! I write a few lines to congratulate you from my heart on the return of this day blessed as I trust it is with health happiness and comfort & all parties as well as the dear little year-old Colt. Kiss him for his queer old grandmother who does not trouble her head much about him while he is busied in so much joy bespeaking fat and chuckly " . or in full reveling under his present care. Trust the scene will be changed when he is toddling about and has all his little wants and wishes to be gratified and regulated and when he will begin to understand Granny as his third best friend in this working day world. God bless him and protect him! --How amused Arthur would have been this morning when they brought a parcel up to my room 3/4 Name for Miss Mair and sure enough a parcel a size larger than your work but was given into my hands directed
