You have disappointed me very much indeed, for I expected to have received a collection of your elegant Sonnets of which I have seen some specimens, of so much beautiful simplicity and tenderness, and here you have sent me such a Phillippic! ---I am no Critic, and I won't tell you a word about The Comet --except indeed, that I have a great regard for him, an d of course am sorry for any vexation that may happen to him; Yet nevertheless I thank you my dear friend for this, and every instance of your kind regards to met which I always have, and ever shall, value very highly. Your oblig'd & afft e s. Siddons Why dont you take a walk and look at this prettiest of all pretty places?
