Thomas Moore letter to Sarah Siddons, 1818 August 14

I should have answered your very kind & welcome letter before now, but that I have been away from home for some days. -Is there any -the remotest -chance of your being at the Salisbury Music -Meeting? I think I shall be there, and I never go to any thing of this kind without indulging a little dream that, by some chance or other, you may be there also -Our meetings in public have been very unlike those of the Macbeth witches, for, if you recollect, we have always met in music, and for that & other reasons, I always look for you, where there is music -Many thanks for the precious parcel you mean to send me, and whatever national airs you may have collected since I saw you I shall be delighted to receive -you deserved much more than the mere gift of a copy for the riches you contributed to the First Number. 
You have made my very amiable friend, Mrs John Cooper as enamoured of you as every body else is -She had but the one theme, while I was there, and I believe she suspected there could not be a more welcome one. In expectation of hearing from you very soon, I am ~ truly & faithfully your obliged
