Transcription	Bath, September the 1st.. Dear John - I am greatly afraid that I shall be obli«ed to break my projected engagement at the Lane, as mr Siddons is getting gradually worse; and I can-not leave him. You say the Manager cannot easily pro-cure a substitute for the part of Volumnia. I am sorry: but we ~cannot help illness. Cannot you run down here on Sunday Morng., & stay till Monday afternoon, when' you 'wi l l have time enough to reach the ·Theatre by 8 o'clock, the hour that Coriolanus is\ commenced. M~ Siddons, I know, would be highly gratified, as you are one of his greatest favourites. So try & come. Your favourite niece is well, and also desires your presence; as does Your affect~ Sister, Sarah Siddons }VI~ John P. I{emble P.S. Dear Kind Friend, Mr Boaden, will deliver this.
