My Dear Sir
You must be the kindest
of all mortals, to remember me,
after so much seeming negligence on
my part.-But I do not know how it
is-yet-since I have had nothing to do,
I really have no time to get through it.
I sometimes think it is age and stupi
-dity-then I flatter myself it is only
indolence-at all events-it is illmannered
and I blush for myself!-I wish you
could see me now, I am sitting in front
of red fire, and I suspect my cheeks are
the redder of the two. Your kind invitation I cannot
