Dear Coates I had the pleasure of writing to zou by last Saturday's Post enclos'd in a Letter to M Malock. I did not expect to have troubled you again so soon, but rbn Wensday r M Johnson call'd on me and to my great Surprize acquainted me, that the Bond for b500 and the Lease for L50 Ann for the Music Hall jointly sign'd by M~ Barry and me r remain in his Hands, he says soon af ter M Barry' s arrival in Dublin he call'd on him in Crow Street and told him, that I had resign'd my share in the Concern to Him and desir'd that a fresh Lease shou'd be executed in his Name alone, to which M~ Johnson wou'd not consent, and added, that hearing no more from M~ Barry and not receiving any Letter for me he concluded I had not resign'd. You must imagine this gives me no small uneasiness, for shou'd any accident happen to the undertaking or shd Barry die the Bond & R;nt in all Probability must be saddled on me, and as M Barryl@kopious scheme can never suit any Purpose of Mine I shall not rest in Peace 'till I am clear'd from this Security. I have M~ Barry a Letter direwed to you, Mr =lock & Mr Johnson to this Ef f ect--That at the Request of Mr Barry I had agreed to resign my share in the Music Hall, provided first, that the Bond for L500 and the joint Lege shd be cancelled & then I agreed that a fresh Lease sh be enter'd into between Messrs Johnson & Barry alone, Mr. Johnson says he never saw any Letter from Me--I must mention one thin8 to you--The Day after I told M~ Barry the whole sh be at his service, soon as we had din'd at his House, r (M Macklin present) an Attorney came with an Instrument drawn up for me to sign, importing --That
