Description	Poel writes in response to his correspondent's last letter and asks him not to use his name, Poel, on the professional stage as it can be of little use to him. He requests that the correspondent discuss any plans for opening a school in America that teaches Poel's methods and curriculum. Poel also criticizes the influence of commercial theatre, especially a recent play about the life of William Shakespeare. [The correspondent may be Poel's nephew, Reginald Pole.] The letter's first two pages have been ripped and partially taped together with corners missing.

Transcription	and h the work I delay friendly letter w first because I was you promised to send from you or to the prestuction of the "new some ofinin about the length of New York and to know of your movements. I never recieved any letter from you 18 months ago about Ibsen's play "When we Dead Awaken" or as to your wishing to use the name (Poel). On July 29th, in your first intimation to me of the matter, you write "I will send a programme soon" (one never came! W.P.) "They have got so ruined out here over the difference in spelling your name and mine, and I have got so tired explaining that I have now let them keep the Poel on the programme, which they did at first by mistake; I promise you however I am not disgracing your name!"P.S...Helen also acts a small but good part in the play under the name Charmian Poel"! Now this communication can certainly only be read with one meaning. And that is that that I am to
