The newsletter begins with an introduction by Mrs. Bessie Bartlett Frankel, President, which states that: "Owing to the shortage of paper, it was necessary to discontinue for two years publishing our official bulletin." Contents include a list of current officers; announcement about a new organization, the Association of Women's Committees for Symphony Orchestras; a photograph and brief biography of composer Wesley La Violette who will lecture at Committee events; a list of "salons" for the 1945-1946 season to be held at member's residences; and the Standing Committees for 1945-1946. " The publication is edited by Catherine Cutler Shedd. |

| Notes | The Women's Committee of the Philharmonic Orchestra was organized in March 1924 at the suggestion of conductor Walter Henry Rothwell. Mrs. J. A. Van Kaathoven served as General Chairman; Mrs. Cecil Frankel, Honorary Chairman; and Mrs. Hansen Moore, as Secretary-Treasurer; for the first two years. With the resignation of Mrs. Van Kaathoven in 1926, Mrs. Frankel took over the active chairmanship of the Committee. The Committee was organized to develop a wider interest in symphonic music generally, and to assume the responsibility of the annual season ticket drive. Essay contests have been held in the High Schools and Universities for two season tickets for the evening concerts of the regular pairs. These seats, purchased by Women's Committee, are known as the "Walter Henry Rothwell Memorial Tickets." Luncheons, dinners and receptions are held for conductors and artists. Each season one public rehearsal by the Orchestra with outstanding soloists is given exclusively for members of the Committee.
