Dear Wife,
I received yours dated Sept 21st a short time since, I have been in Secret Canon most of the time since I wrote last. My letters lay in the post office here although I ordered them sent out, I was glad to hear you were all well, I have been very well and have been trying to make some money out of my mines but we have had no facilities for working the ores until now we have a mill now ready to run near the mills which will give us a chance to make some money if the weather hold favorable this Winter. Times have been very dull in regard to selling mines or speculating on them capitalists are afraid except they see all thier money in sight. It is no wonder they have paid so often for worthless mines I have some rich ore in some of my claims and the prospect is very good for making considerable money from them
