San Francisco March 10th
Dear Wife,
I have received yours dated Dec it was a long time coming I am Happy to hear you were well and that we have another Daughter Born to us. I hope she will live to be a blessing to us. I would like to be at home and see her I hope I shall be able to this season. If our little one is alive when you recieve this I will propose to call her Mary Jane will that suit you. I am going over to Washoe this week if the weather is favorable. I shall try to sell what I have thare if possible times have been very dull the past year but we expect some improvement this Spring in the mines. I have not been able to collect or make any money since I came back. I have been up to the Ranch since I wrote you six weeks ago Mr Prescott has made considerable improvements on the place building [illegible] amounting to $2500
