Title	Pious reflections on the ways of providence
Creator	Chandler, N. A. (1818-1880)
Description	Chandler writes that he must go to Virginia City to settle his accounts “before going east.” His mines are “proving very rich in Utah exceeding the expectations of the most Sanguine.” He writes to console Jane after the recent loss of their child May. Notations in pencil appear at the top of the first page and on the bottom of the last page. The notation on the fist page, “See last page-”, refers to the following notation on page four, “Utah mines ‘proving very rich, exceeding the expectations of the most sanguine.’ Pious reflections upon the ways of Providence. S.F. – ‘I must say the finest place on the globe.’” Pencil marks highlight certain parts of the text pertaining to the notes.
